Hello, my name is Nate Dax. I am twenty years old, and a Junior Digital Media Major. I am mainly interested in TV and Film production, which is what I would hopefully like to one day have a job working in the field of, and am currently the most interested in a career as a broadcaster for either news or sports. Here at Slippery Rock, I have just recently become Co-President of the Running Club, which I am hoping to convert into a Club Sports Team in the future, and am also a member of the Rock Catholic Church Club.
The main reason I am taking New-Media Journalism is because is was one of the most recommended courses for me to take this semester, and because it was also listed as a required elective. What I hope to learn the most from it is the different kinds of ways news plays an important role in our daily lives, as well as what it can teach me in regards to my major as well.
The news media outlet I am the most familiar with is CNN, as I have used it multiple times in the past during High School and College for researching current events. I have also chosen NBC News as my other outlet, as it is also tends to be one of the best sites to go to when keeping track of the latest stories.
