For this assignment, I filmed a tour of the TV Studio used for the WSRU news team, which I am a member of. Meetings are held every Tuesday at 6:15 in the Maltby building, where we typically discuss any upcoming stories we may have for that week, which can range from anything newsworthy, including sports, student life, and special events. I felt that doing this could be very interesting for other people to see, most notably communication majors, as a way to show them what this organization has to offer and how joining it can be useful as well.
The following video shows a brief introduction to WSRU from its Director, Brittany Fleming, who talks about what they are planning to do for this year.
The following video shows a brief tour of the TV Studio, which includes the cameras used for broadcasting, TVs used for playing back footage and watching the event as it being recorded, and news desk where the hosts sit while discussing the event.
The following videos shows a brief tour of the control room used for managing the sound and lighting while a broadcast is being filmed, as well as for editing footage together and adding effects to it afterward. In it are the type of equipment that is used for these tasks, including computers and switchboards for audio and video.
The following video shows a brief tour of the studio's back office, which is used for additional editing work, as well as for scheduling any further events in the near future.
